Anton Berg — Cinematographer & Director of Photography
I’m a cinematographer based in London, originally from Estonia. I work across both narrative and documentary projects, with a particular interest in stories that are closely connected to their environment. My approach focuses on creating grounded and believable images through a combination of available light and controlled lighting, always in support of the story and the director’s vision. A large part of my experience comes from narrative filmmaking, where lighting, composition, and camera movement are carefully considered to support character and emotion. At the same time, I am drawn to projects that involve working on location, where changing conditions and real environments become part of the filmmaking process and influence the image in unexpected ways. I am comfortable filming in remote and demanding settings, including extreme cold, where both practical limitations and the landscape itself affect how scenes are approached. These experiences have taught me to adapt quickly while maintaining a consistent visual approach under pressure. My background across camera and lighting departments has shaped the way I work on set, with a strong focus on preparation, collaboration, and flexibility. Even when the final result feels natural and unforced, it is usually carefully considered. I enjoy the process of balancing control with observation, allowing a location, a performance, or a moment to contribute something beyond what was originally planned. I am often interested in situations where control is limited, and the image has to be found rather than imposed.
